I can't spell Kastellorizo either!!! Both islands lovely: Kastell... small, not really any beaches, lots of Aussie Greeks and it has been improved greatly over the years: relatively easy to reach from Rhodes as I believe there is a flight every day of the week. Karpathos a big, beautiful island with reputedly some of the best beaches in Greece. However, it's an island you have to travel around on to see the diverse beauty of it all, though the main town Pigadia is nice with a huge beach; lots of American Greeks on this one! Can be reached via Halki on a ferry 3 days a week and from Rhodes by air (25 minutes) every day of the week. Hope this is of help.
