I thought I'd better carry on in the taxis & transfers board as it was getting a bit 'off thread'!
Thanks Betsy for the info about the ferry from Collona. You said it was 16 Euros. Is that the ferry price per person? And do you now how much the taxi fare is to Collona from the airport?
We're leaving here on Tuesday night and would really like to try this route on Wednesday if I can get all the info and feel confident going 'off piste' as it were!

Ok the taxi fare is 16 euros to Collona or if you're really brave and have loads of time there's a bus for 2 euros The ferry price is around 8 euros each and the boat gets into Collona about 13,00 and leaves at 15.00 and takes about 2 hours to Halki The only timetable I've ever found is one of the tilos sites www.tilos-travel.com which updates weekly Hope it works for you we found it much better and cheaper than KS

Thanks Betsy, that's really helpful.
New info has suggested that as the season comes to a close the times may be a little different and apparently the crossing is taking longer (nearly 2 1/2 hours) and the boat doesn't get to Halki before 6 pm at the earliest.
The Open Seas website has the timetable and shows the boat leaving now at 15.30 and arriving in Halki at 18.10.
As Harry is not a good sailor (slight understatement!) we've decided that a 2 1/2 hour ferry ride would be best avoided, particularly after having been travelling since midnight the night before. So I think we'll do the usual KS route this time.
Definitely worth looking at for May though, so I'll keep the info to hand. Thanks again.
