This is the relatively low-lying area of Ftena with Clive battling a tuna! Hey, fishing, it's what we do! As we round Ftena we see Areta. This is a beach which, for the brave mountaineer can be reached on foot. The proviso is that any walker wishing to do this should be adequately equipped. Once there, unless you have arranged for a boat to collect you, the only way is back up the steep climb. There are certainly no facilities here of any kind. A boat can be anchored, or a shore line or two can be used. There is a useful rock on the beach and some other places where a rope can be attached. You will note the flared area in the cliffs surrounding the cove. This enables its identification on Google Earth. This is a picture of Areta looking out. This is Kelia, there is no beach here. A view from a bit further on. I was asked to take some walkers off the rocks at Kelia and I am in further than I would like. This is not a good place to be or to take on passengers. I hope I never have to do it again. Once again a plea to walkers; PLEASE BE ADEQUATELY PREPARED!
