Whatever happens on Wednesday it looks like the ferry crossing will be as flat as a flat thing, if that's any consolation! From past experience these (general) strikes affect Athens more than the islands, with the exception of that taxi strike last year. The local ferries will be no problem (sticking my neck out here!) In the words of my T shirt: "Keep Calm and get the beers in"!

Flat crossing is always a good thing What about air traffic control and baggage handlers Simon? If flights go on time I'll be delighted

Have just heard the strike is from 10 am- 1pm so hopefully we'll all be just a few hours late. The ferry will wait for our flights. Taxis are not striking, thank goodness. So with a bit of luck and a flat crossing we'll all be arriving in Halki on Wednesday and not Thursday, the thought of which was giving John nightmares. Good luck with you journey Cathy, Stuart and Marie

Just found out that EJ Gatwick flight is now scheduled to arrive at 1330 tomorrow. Does anyone happen to know if the bus is running - as we only have hand luggage it might just be possible to catch it

Kinygos was indeed correct, it was a flat as a pancake today...... however our Gatwick SleazyJet 12.25 flight was rescheduled for 14.05 and finally took off as a rescheduled Monarch flight at 15.35, all very confusing dot.com - at one point we were all off to Manchester leaving from gate 15, at one point all Sleazy Jet flights were wiped from the departure board. All fun and games. Still we are home

On the day Fatcat left, the Nikos came alongside at1830ish NIssos about 20 mins later, seemed the Gatwick Easy Jet flight was about an hour and a half delayed, not sure of the rest, but not a bad arrival time on Halki.

Yes it all seemed to be fairly well organised presumably as the airlines had prior warning. Most flights left approx 2 hours late to avoid the strike but arrival time sounds good, we have been later than that some years without a stike !!!!
