Sunfun To be honest I can't really recommend any tavernas as such from such a short stay, but we found ourselves at a taverna at I think Plakas beach, easy to find as it was the only one before you reach the main stretch and the service and food was very good but we were the only people there. This is the view from that taverna to the main hub of the beach.

Sunfun
We went to Tilos some 4 years ago in early Sept after doing our usual trip to Halki in late May.
It's not Halki but where is? We really enjoyed it and the locals were particularly accommodating. We stayed up the hill at Annas, superb views and quite reasonable we thought.
Very large crescent shaped beach, shingle with a couple of hotels . Beach beds were not charged for but it was courtesy to use the hotels beach catering for lunch. Taverna type and no hardship. The only toilet facilities were in the hotels.
As with Halki, about half a dozen restaurants, the best of which we thought was the Faros Hotel. Downside was the long walk to the end of the bay. Somewhere behind the greek flag in the very excellent Bennielchat photo. Second was Nikkos half way along on the right of the beach road but was always booked up by people who visit Tilos regularly. We did get in twice though albeit a tight squeeze in the corner.
There was a big restaurant with open barbecue grill near the minimarket which was also popular.
No sundown bars as per those on Halki but a very pleasant table area under vines in the small village square. We rather enjoyed this too.
Transfer was by Sea Star Catamaran about 1 and a half hours. A touch claustraphobic and choppy for those who don't have 'sea legs'. It left from Mandraki in Rhodes but I believe the times have since changed so I will not quote.
Wife was not happy with Catamaran so we returned to Rhodes on the Saturday Rodanthi Car Ferry.
Plenty of info on the web but nothing on restaurants it seems. In retrospect I believe we also went to the one by the flags in Bennielchat's picture and that was very good also.
Megal Horio, the old village is a short bus ride away and worth visiting as is the now derelict Mikro Horio save for a renevated music bar! I believe that we hired a car to do this and a few other more remote spots.
Tilos will google a reasonable amount of info as will 'Tilos Trip Advisor'. Tilos is definitely worth a visit as is Telendos and Kalymnos but that is for another day!
Hope that this is helpful.
