:-/Amanda, not sure when you are travelling - if its September/October the ferry schedules are not released until August. We live on the ANEK ferry route and after today we have no idea when the next ferry will be!!!!! Once released, hopefully in March, they will be unlikely to change too much during the summer months.

That's very helpful thank you. We are on Halki May/June and also September/October. We were thinking of spending a couple of nights on Kassos while we're there and it looks as if it may be possible. Certainly if the ferry times are similar to those currently shown on the timetable.

You'll love Kassos - one of our favourite islands and very very Greek and unspoilt still. If I hear anything about the ferries I will post - hopefully within the next day or two. I shall be visiting Halki later in the summer so obviously I want to know too!!

:)ANEK have come out with a new ferry timetable - but it only goes until the end of March, or possibly up until Greek Easter (mid-April), so its not a lot of help - maybe it will be a similar schedule for the summer - who knows, this is Greece!!! Amanda, not sure how much homework you've done on Kassos but if you fly from UK in and out of Rhodes Airport, you can get a daily flight from Kassos to Rhodes, via Karpathos; 5 minutes by air to Karpathos, where the plane stands for around 30 minutes, then 25 minutes flight to Rhodes. Could be an idea for the end of your holiday. A very helpful travel agency in the town of Phry too (Kassos Maritime Agency). Just Google for details.

That does sound good. I'd thought we'd go in the middle of the holiday via the Anek ferry, coming back to Halki afterwards, but the flight to Rhodes option could be good at the end of the holiday as you say. If the schedules remain the same as now then we could get a ferry at a civilised 10 am on Sunday, flying back to Rhodes on Wednesday (depending on flight time) for our 16.20 flight back to the UK.
I already had the Maritime Agency bookmarked thanks, having found it through Google! Would they help to book flights?

Yes, the travel agency will book flights and ferries, and sort out accommodation. Their Hotel, in which their offices are situated, is excellent, room only, small but clean (and air conditioned) and if you can get a room overlooking the harbour its a great place to stay. Its on their website. They speak very good English too, which is a help. No flight times for the summer have been announced yet, they should be coming out within the next two weeks (once again we hope!!!)
