:-/Is there any other accommodation at Kamiros Skala other than Liros Pension. Liros is marvellous but it might have to be a snap decision at the last moment, so it would be nice to know if there's a backup there.

As I think I may have mentioned somewhere (can't recall when or which thread) 3 or 4 years ago, the taverna on the right as you turn from the road into the harbour area at Kamira Skala has rooms for overnight staying. At least, they did 3 or 4 years ago. I didn't stay there but when passing through KS I asked about accommodation there as a possible future option. It's a fairly large establishment but I can't remember its name and don't now have a phone number. It's not the one I think called Loukas Taverna, which is to the left, next to the quayside, where most people usually have snacks etc before getting the ferry.
Whoever you have booked accommodation with on Halki may have more up to date knowledge of places to stay at short notice at KS.

What Ho Muriman buddy! That's in the link I gave above.
The big problem on these proboards is trying to find archive stuff. There is a "search" function which is as much use as a chocolate teapot.
That's why we get the same questions over and over and over... again. You need to search each entry to find what you want even if you know it's there.
I find it most frustrating, but I do try to send a reference because I am too lazy to repeat things!

Ah! What ho to you too. Having now looked back (and your link, Kinygos, is a helpful way of answering the query), I realise I said something very similar in July 2009 - I knew I'd said it somewhere, sometime!
I've never tried to use a search function here. I don't know about the chocolate teapot simile; perhaps you could have said it's as much use as a euro in Syntagma Square.

:)Thanks for the replies. IF anyone can post the name/contact details for the taverna at some time in the future, I, and I am sure others, will be very grateful. Liros is "the best" so I hope we can get booked in at short notice!!!!
