Pleased to hear you have booked but that week does appear to be more expensive, Graeme and Macs flight is dearer than mine and Fergies the previous week, is it something to do with high demand once the schools have gone back do you think ?

No idea Carol have just emailed EJ as the flights are cheaper today Have said I always assumed maybe incorrectly that the earlier the flights are booked the cheaper the price Have also asked if they can explain why its cheaper to fly in peak time ie August than September and why the 5/09/2012 flight is over double what the same flight is a week earlier or a week later and even flying in early August is considerably less takes them on average 5 days to reply :oapparently so watch this space

This is the reply from EJ 17th November 2011 Dear Mrs Lambillion, Thank you for contacting us. I am very sorry to hear that the price of your flight has gone down after you bought the tickets. Please let me assure you that it is not a usual occurrence. In general, we try to fill each flight by adjusting seat prices to match supply to demand, so that we can maintain our low fares. We first sell our seats at their lowest rate. Therefore, passengers who book early get the best price. Fares then rise as seats are sold, and we constantly review how full the flight is getting and adjusts fares accordingly. This helps to make sure that seats are available up to the day of departure for late-booking passengers. It also encourages passengers to book early to get the best price. Sometimes, if a flight is not selling as well as expected, we reduce the fare to encourage people to book. What you may find useful here is that all of our flights are covered by our 'Price Promise' policy. This means that if you find a seat on your flight available at a lower fare than you paid, we will credit the difference in a form of an easyJet voucher. You then have 6 months to use your credit towards more easyJet flights or amendments of existing tickets. You can only claim the 'Price Promise' over the phone and it is best to call the minute you see the fare difference or to have taken a screenshot at the time. Written claims cannot be accepted. I have included a link below to our 'Price Promise' policy: www.easyjet.com/EN/Book/regulations.html#pricepromiseAlso, the link below leads to our phone numbers which you can use to submit a 'Price Promise' claim: easyjet.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3158/I do appreciate the abnormality of flights in autumn being dearer than in August, however, as I explained above sometimes things like that occur when we want to encourage our customers to book. Please feel free to contact us if the flights are still available with a lower price. If you have additional questions, please reply to me without hesitation or ask our agent when you call. Yours sincerely -Piotr Kluj- Customer Service Representative * * * This email (and any attachments) Will keep a close eye on prices and hope they go below what I paid but not untill sometime next summer so I can claim the "Price Promise " against my flights for 2013 ;)or offset the voucher against my 2012 tickets

Same thing happened to me earlier this year - ie price drop after booking with EJ. But it takes a lot of nerve to delay booking. The problem is that the "price promise" is a pretty hollow promise because of the restriction of voucher claims to telephone calls only, which is obviously a deliberate way of hindering such claims. I couldn't face the thought of phone calls listening to menu choices and muzak, probably costing me as much in phone charges as any voucher benefit, while EJ made enough money from the phone company to cover any voucher they might issue.
Incidentally, Daisy, EJ don't say you could use vouchers, if you were to get any, to offset the cost of your existing 2012 tickets (as I think you believe), only towards the cost of any amendments to them.

Thanks Murriman have reread conditions of PP and can see now that it only covers amendments I also agree that I would probably spend more on the phone call than I would ever save EJ are still cheaper by a mile than any other flights I looked at and I love the early flight time to Rhodes No complaints either about our flights this year with them Staff were friendly and helpful and planes so much more comfortable and roomy than any other carriers we have used in the past

Been checking flights for September and today the flight outward on th 5th has dropped to £116-99 thats a £32-50 each saving Rang EJ got through very quickly and have been given a £65 credit off future flight or amendment to existing flight As there is nothing to amend will have to hope 2013 flights to Rhodes are released by October or my credit will be lost It makes no sense to me that the credit cannot be charged back to the card the flights were booked on typical cheap airline shenanigans Might just have to have a holiday early next year ;D
