We are back from our Greek Island Hopping and had a great time. Everything went to plan and had no trouble with the disputes going on in Greece. We went from PIRAEUS to NAXOS and stayed for 4 nights before going to SYROS for another 4 nights. We then moved on to KEA for 2 nights before going to KITHNOS for 3 nights. We could not go to HYDRA direct from KITHNOS so unfortunately we had to go back to PIRAEUS for 1 night before travelling to HYDRA for 3 nights. Our next port of call was POROS for 4 nights before chilling out for a whole week on AEGINA before travelling back to PIRAEUS and then up to the airport and home. A total of 4 weeks in all. Accomodation was easy to find at this time of year and a lot cheaper than the normal room rates. We stayed in a combination of Studios, Apartments, and Rooms - all of which had A/C, TV, Private Balcony, Shower etc - with the only Hotel we stayed in was in PIRAEUS. We paid an average of 31 euros per night for the duration of our travels. This was our third year running that we have done this and would recommend it to anybody providing they are prepared to live out of a suitcase - ours were never completely empty. Hope everybody who have been to HALKI this year have had a great time. We even saw a signpost for HALKI whist on Naxos and will post a photo of it when I get organised and with Liz,s help.

Hi Bob and Joan, Graeme and I went to Naxos for our honeymoon 25 years ago and loved it, I know it now has an airport, but is it still fairly quiet ? We remember beautiful almost empty beaches and lovely bars and tavernas right on the waters edge at the harbour. We would like to return there one year but cannot give Halki a miss
