Would not bother going. Cons: Too crowded, too commercial, seems to be built in the last 40 years, 'full' of Russians........ Pro's: Great food, warm water, friendly folk, great mountain drives & scenery, Roman ruins. I'm sure there are lovely parts of Cyprus - just we did not see them  |

We were staying with friends who own an apartment near to Paralimni (far east of Cyprus), great view of the sea and sunsets to die for and within spying distance of the UN buffer zone and Farmagusta. Nothing remotely 'traditional' within 20 miles, the local 'strip' catered for Maccidees, KFC & the Pizzahut crowd, afterwards you could get a tattoo, sing Karoke, drink 3 for the price of 1 and end up in a tacky souvenir shop buying a 'kiss me quick hat'...... You get the picture...............................  |
