Course not..... ;D. Incidentally, our policy still doesn't cover us for "end user failure" (or whatever it's called) but "hey-ho"

I reckon I'm due at least half your drink offer, Sunfun, as Di's comment was responding to the point I brought up about travel insurance policies not covering ferry cancellations ordered by port authorities! This is nothing to do with "end user insurance" (which relates to companies going bust); it's simply to do with policy exclusions. Although failure of scheduled public transport (such as bus or train breakdown on the way to the airport) is a fairly standard item of cover, as is failure of a scheduled public transport ferry service for reasons not ordered by port or shipping authorities, I don't know of a policy which covers ferry cancellations ordered by port authorities, and even if such an event was not specifically excluded it might be difficult to make a successful claim. This might depend on the day of travel, bearing in mind that the Wednesday ferries are not in the published timetables and so it may be questionable whether they fall into the definition of "scheduled". See also postings in the General section on insurance advice.

Ooops...I've only just noticed your posting, Sunfun, on the "insurance advice" thread, including your thanks....for which, thanks! These threads developed an overlap!
