Hi all.
My partner and I are due to make or first visit to Halki in August.
We are booked to go with Olympic and we've just had notification that our flight times have been changed due to Olympic and Monarch falling out.
Our original flight was due to land in Rhodes at 1500 on 10th August (Wednesday) which would have enabled us to take the afternoon ferry to Halki but now we aren't due into Rhodes until 1600.
Does anyone here know if we are likely to be able to catch the afternoon ferry which, as far as I can tell, normally leaves at about 1730? I would assume that it *might* wait for the charter flights to arrive but I'm a little worried that we might have to have an overnight stay in Rhodes.
If anyone could give us any information, it really would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

The Ferry is unlikely to leave until the olympic coach arrives because it apears that Olympic have a block booking,

Just to re-iterate what Red Rose Exile said, our flight a couple of weeks ago, landed on time, which was at 4pm and there was also another flight landed after ours. The coach left the airport at 5pm and the boat left for Halki at 6pm, there were also people on the coach from earlier flights, they had been allowed to wander ( there is a taverna very close by) and told to return at 4.30 You are probably better off on a later flight, less hanging around at Rhodes airport. ;D

If all else fails the Halki Taxi Boat leaves Kamiros Skala at 7pm. Cost is 12 euros per person and it get to Halki in 30 minutes. We used it for our return to Rhodes yesterday and it was excellent.

Am I correct in thinking that there are water taxis and water taxis. The one I am thinking of would charge much more than €12, or has competition from other, both land and water taxis, made him amend his prices? We are using Olympic for the first time in September and I won't be too surprised if we end up staying in Rhodes. It used to be quite common for people traveling with Olympic, which is why we always used Direct Greece. Just got Strategic Airlines to worry about now, but since there have been no negative posts they must be doing the job.
