I heard about the tuna from another source. Thanks for the picture. That has to be a Yellowfin; like its close relative the Atlantic Bigeye No.1 for steaks. The sight of that will inspire my First Officer. He wants to connect to one of those! A pity that they do not know how to treat a prize like that. It should have been gutted, gilled and iced on the boat.
Factoid! You think fish are cold bodied, but tuna run above seawater temperature and use their gills to regulate the body temperature to a more or less stable level. Thus they spoil quickly & easily as a result. Once caught the best thing is to Remove gut and gills to bleed it, pack the body cavity with ice and immerse it in crushed ice.
Thick steaks seared on each side so the middle third is still pink, perfection!

Had one of those steaks at the avra, very very good. Huge though. Good hunting for another one.....

Does that mean you went in for a swim? If so how was it, temperaturewise?
As predicted I have had a certain First Officer asking me about the tuna! He has no idea about the struggle that would be on 30lb tackle, let alone 20!
Let the old man dream!

No swimming, just a quick attempted wade under duress due to wifely taunts. Water warmer than expected though, probably UK July temperature.
