Some may remember the road to Pondamus debacle. (Micro thin asphalt on crushed limestone?) I offer you the Halki slipway. This construction was a potholed mess for years and my old trailer suffered I was told in 2005 it was going to be repaired Large slabs of concrete laid over the potholes. Concrete is much denser than air, but not so much denser than water. A chap called Archimedes worked that one out. The slipway has no side protection as you can see. Can you guess what happened over winter? Ooooh wheredeygo? Here's one! Autumn 2006 saw the job done for a second time. Much higher and still with an even more sharp drop at the end. Oh, yes the road to Pondamus was also done again.

A rumour circulated once that the boatyard may close and relocate. Is there any truth in that?
