It is confusing Most UK airports have lifted the restrictions on the number of pieces of hand luggage but individual airlines haven't I think most charters are still limiting to one piece of carry on luggage but I am not 100% certain Could you not take a handbag that fits into your other piece of hand luggage - that way you shouldn't have a problem Remember the 100 ml for liquids, toiletries, cosmetics etc through security still applies too

Yes that is what I did last year, it is just so much easier to take a handbag seperately with the tickets passports etc inside instead of having to get everything out of the hand luggage, please dont get me wrong I am totally in favour of as many security checks as they deem necessary for our safety, I just wish everyone played by the same rules and it was easy to understand.

I think if it fits into your carry on hand luggage you are okay with a handbag.

It still seems to vary from airport to airport and different airlines - as said I would make sure that your handbag fits inside the hand luggage just in case. We are only taking one piece of hand luggage so that my handbag can count as the other one.
