Hi all
We're back on plan (May holiday) after thinking about a September visit. Now I've noticed that Olympic do Saturday departures which would save me a day's holiday from work. I could save that along with another from October to put towards an extended weekend in Edinburgh near Xmas.
To the point.........
Is there a Saturday afternoon ferry that would tie in with an 08.00 flight from the UK? I'm sure I've seen a timetable somewhere that listed a Saturday crossing at 14.40 but I very much doubt we'd make that. If that's the case then we'll stick with the usual Wednesday flight as the thought of staying overnight on Rhodes at either end of our stay just doesn't appeal to us. Any help would be appreciated
Cheers. Tom and Rose

You just could possibly spend an absolutely delightful evening at KS and catch the morning ferry on Sunday.

That would be great but we'll be at the mercy of Olympic so I doubt that would happen.

You could leave them ... last year Fedon did a 5 pm crossing from KS on a saturday .. I know you'd have to pay for a taxi yourself but for a 8 am flight I don't see why Olympic wouldn't cross you the same day

I have emailed them about Saturday transfers but I'm not holding my breath for an answer. Might give them a ring and enquire about the possibility of a Fedon crossing Cheers. Tom and Rose

Hi Soupdragon, we came out on Saturday last May with Olympic, and although the flight gets in early, there was no ferry connection on a Saturday. Room had been reserved for us at Kassandra hotel. Picked up for early morning ferry with Nikos Halki on Sunday morning. On return no overnight required, early morning ferry, a couple of hours at the hotel and then to the airport. One couple were really not happy with the overnight arrangement and tried to get info about ferry to do it themselves, but only possibility was private taxi boat so they gave up and accepted Olympics arrangements. I actually didn't,t mind it too much, we only really missed one dinner on Halki as we were there so early on Sunday morning.

I think its a case of Olympic use Nissos Halki and if its not running at that time then they don't offer an alternative .. you probably could get across - Last May Fedon crossed from KS at 09.15 and at 17.00 but obviously you have to pay for the taxi and the ferry

Thanks for the info. I think we've resigned ourselves to the Wednesday flight. Would have been nice to have saved an extra day's holiday from work but we'd rather just get to Halki than mess about with a stay overnight somewhere. Hopefully we'll manage to get a booking that will make use of the late May bank holiday, one day saved is better than none although two would have given us a better option for a long weekend in Edinburgh later in the year.
Thanks again. Tom and Rose

Tom , check out the flights on sky scanner .. Manchester to Rhodes has dropped quite a lot lately and booking.com have some good deals too .. we're staying at KS at the Althemenis for our first night .. Saturday to Wednesday .. we get more holiday for only a couple more days off work .. honestly DIY is not difficult and often doesn't cost as much
