We are staying overnight at KS, and should be on the Fedon at 9:15. Not long now, just 26 days (unfortunately, 27 before we are on Halki), not that I am counting, lol.

Tomg are you travelling with Olympic? I am until Rhodes then staying in Rhodes Town and catching the 9a.m. ferry from Kolona harbour. Where are you staying when on Halki? We could not find a suitable accommadation with Olympic for this year (they only had Studios left). Our grown up daughter is traveling with us so we needed two rooms. We decided to travel the independant route, so booked the Villa Perla with Nissia Holidays and I booked flights directly with Thomas Cook (I believe they are the only flight from Glasgow to Rhodes). Nissia have been great, they will be at the airport when we arrive in Rhodes (even though we are not due in until 23:45) and they will put us in a taxi to Kamiros Skala where they have booked two rooms for us at the Pension Liros. As I understand it, the Fedon leaves for Halki at 9:15 am so hopefully, we will be on Halki a little after 10:00 am on Thurdsay 5th September.

We are travelling with Olympic and because of the late flight were being put up in Rhodes. Our ferry time the next day was mid afternoon so rather than lose a day we booked out own hotel in rhodes - (much preferrable to taking a punt with Olympic probably in Falaraki) and booked our own ferry form Kolona. Our ferry gets in about 10:15 so just behind you. Must take a note of your travel co as they seem to be civilised!!!

Puddling looking at flights i am coming to the conclusion the cost is about the same to organsie accomodation and flights seperately. Certainly going to do a lot more research for next year.

They dumped us in a horrid little hotel in Falaraki overnight, at least we had company, the cockroaches were almost as large as we were. This will be our third visit to Halki but the first time we have travelled independently. You can find Nissia Holidays at: nissiaholidays.com/.

We were dumped in Falaraki in 2010 as well. I wonder if we have actually met before!!!! The reason we are parting with bucks on a hotel in Rhodes is we don't want the Falaraki experience again. Its a pity Olympic just don't waken up and smell the coffee that people are willing to pay a bit more for comfort instead of cheap and tacky. Hey ho - roll on September and i hope we meet at some point.

Hey ho - roll on September and i hope we meet at some point. In 2010, we travelled on Wed 8th Sep. We were told at the airport that directions for the next morning would be given to us at the hotel in Falaraki. However, when we got there, we found that reception was closed and there were no instructions waiting. I remember the journey to Falaraki as there were two very drunk girls from Glasgow, who kept singing the same line from a song over and over. Everyone was annoyed with them but of course we were all too polite to say anything. I got up early and walked outside to find other travellers also heading for Halki. A small bus eventually arrived and took us to Kamiros Skala where we boarded the boat to Halki. Very poor organisation on the part of Olympic, however, things worked out OK in the end. Feel free to drop by Villa Perla anytime, we are a friendly bunch, it is only our daughter who bites, but she can be easily placated with a glass of wine. We will stock up on Wine, Retsina and beer as well as coffee and tea. We are Tom and Sylvia, our daughter is Sharon. Villa Perla and Villa Korali are in the blue house on the waterfront at the end of Halki (on the left as you are facing out into the bay). See the photograph below, Villa Perla is the side nearest the town centre.

Wrong spy tomg - not you we met. How kind to ask us to drop in. We of course return the compliment and are at the kiki apartments but don't know exactly which one yet. I am Frieda and my daughter - who also can bite but not often is Nancy. Not long now and we will all be there.
