Liz, that's were they attach one of the lines from the front of the boat, 'cos it's longer than the actual jetty. It was quite scary watching them climbing out of the smaller boat and up that ladder, especially with the wind and swell on Friday

Fantastic Di!!! They really brightened up a very miserable and wet morning here in Leicestershire.
Almost worth going to Dubai just to see it. Then again .........

Hi Kathy I'm a born and bred scouser (although I did get told this year that I didn't have an accent - what - I've heard myself on an answerphone and I sound like Lily Savage ). I work down on Princes Dock so have a birds eye view when the boats come in.

Liverpool One is brill ;D ;D. Not only that, but I wandered to the bus stop via the Pier Head yesterday to look at the new canal link. It looks fantastic and with all the things that have happened, and everything we've been able to pull off this year without any major cock ups, I felt really proud to come from Liverpool (Carol, I took some photo's and will be sending you a link for Graham to see). It really does look good ;D

I havent seen the new canal link yet Di - but the Echo pics look impressive. A couple of weeks ago we were in town with a couple of hours to kill,so we wandered round by Chavasse Park. Took a photo by the fountains for 3 South American girls sightseeing, then walked with them a hundred yards, past the fabulous new architecture, the brilliant steps & was able to point out The Three Graces, Liverbirds,Tate Modern,River Mersey etc etc....We felt really proud
