Anyone stayed there? We've booked it for end May/June next year, but not quite sure exactly where it is as it's a bit hard to tell from the photo's on the website (apart from it's on the harbour obviously ). I think it's past Apostolis towards the end, but think it might be further towards the end than we thought. Been looking through photo's taken from the boat as it arrives, but haven't spotted it so far. We've booked the downstairs so any info is appreciated (is that big terrace all ours ;D ;D)

Hi Liz, Yes, that's when I realised it's a lot further round than I thought it was (third rock from the end ). Like I said, I've been looking at photo's taken as the boat comes in, but no one seems to get their cameras out until they get to Hiona. I'm just hoping that the water is fairly easy to get in and out as I have great plans to be really healthy and have a swim each morning before breakfast (yeah right :

Di if you look at Red Rose Exiles Imborio slideshow there are a couple of pics in that that go to the end - if you are quick enough you can save the picture and enlarge it enough to see the houses

Hi Di, We have stayed at Areta every year since Nissia took it on, in fact we were formerly Laskarina Hiona 1 and watched Areta being built It is spacious and well-appointed inside with a large balcony, the downside is you lose the sun at about 16:30 but for a sun-worshiper a shuffle down to the sea front gives you sun until 17:30. Access to the sea is easy because there's a ladder into the water. You cannot dive in because, despite repeated requests, Peter has yet to move a rock that precludes an Olympic belly-flop You can climb down the ladder and push off into the sea easily, I always go for my early morning dip plus myriad other dips and the joy is that it is far enough away from the maddening crowd to avoid too many tourists. There is an outside shower that you can de-salinify yourself before going back up onto the balcony for a well-earned flop on the sun loungers.

Thanks Enforcer and RRE (I think I spotted it at no. 59). Really looking forward to it, even 'tho it's still 11 months away, and always wanted to stay in one of the ones on the front (yippeedoo!! ). The sun going at 4.30ish isn't a problem as we are usually heading to Apostolis round about then ;D

... and from me too! For those going on a fishing trip with me this year. How about taking photographs of the sea-front properties that nobody photographs normally, for the purpose of information on this site? Just a thought
We usually pass them all and I am always busy setting up the lines, or taking them in.

I am going to try to fix up a video camera, as I did in Vanuatu, this year. Should get anything happening astern. Might just get a jumping dolphin! Better yet a jumping Marlin or dorado attached to a line, attached to you. Just hope you don't get a blister on your thumb... but that only happens to softies!
No names...

Di We also watched this property change from a German wartime Gun emplacement to an excellent property This will give you some idea of what Areta looks like when you have your early am swim. The ladder has had wooden steps adde Especially for Mrs. Handa as she moaned to Effi, the owner. Yes it is almost the last place on the waterfront, you turn towards the sea outside the gate to Polymnia.
