What would it be ??..it doesn't have to be one that you've actually had , you could have one course from one island and one from another I think mine would be ....The stuffed peppers with feta from Pondamos ..Calamari from Ftenagia ( retsina from anyone who cares to pour it ;D ) or A Gyro from a street corner in Ag Nik on Crete...I may well come back to this later .....its got me thinking

Mine has to be that first plate of meatballs at Ftenagia washed down with a cold bottle of Retsina ;D

Now, a burger might seem like an odd choice. But this is a home made burger at Nick's at Pondamos, accompanied by a slice of lime, a dish of tsatisiki, a frosted glass of beer and a view of from the shade of the vine of that Greek flag blue sea and sky.
My idea of heaven.
About twenty sleeps...

Oh Johnr, you are so right, in fact I mentioned how wonderful the burgers used to be in a post last week! It used to be a chunk of lemon, so Nick has obviously gone more exotic over the years! ;D

Nick's aubergine immam at ftenagia and a very large ice cold beer is my favourite. Bliss! I can't wait - less than 7weeks to go.
Other half can't decide - but as far as Halki is concerned loves the meatballs at Nicks and can never resist a good stifado...but its hard to beat a simple gyro at the grill . He just loves to eat!

Supia - cuttle fish. Used to be in a number of restaurants but for the last few years it seemed to only be on the menu at Ftenagia. Totally delicious and memorable!

Texture of calamari or chicken (but not as stringy) and a taste of it's own, not 'fishy'. It was Kiki who introduced me to it in ? - a restaurant in which she was working many years ago. Nick does it in a tomato and onion sauce - definitely worth the walk over, makes OH and I actually move off our terrace a couple of times in the holiday!

The potato and bacon au gratin and the hot peppers at the Black Sea. The Pastitsio at Pondamos. The prawn pilaf at Maria's. Many meals at Avra; the Chicken Special with chips is usually great. Any meal is great there when Katouna is around. But that's another thread and probably another type of website.... Andrew

I'm with Fergie - Aubergine Imam and Ice cold draught Alfa, or Spaghetti from Halki at Ftenagia. But generally Black Sea rocks. Hey I've been making Halki Spag. at home - obviously it's very simple but you really need to fry the onions for about 45mins to get them to caramelize properly.
