As the said actor is at least 10 years older than me and as Lynda somewhat unkindly pointed out, "slimmer as well" it does little for my ego. As for my rank in Captain Bligh's crew, I think that "Howard the Navigator" has a poetic ring to it?

Kinygos II is now out of the water as of 13/10/10. This was due to the lack of a safe mooring on Halki. Petros (The fisherman) suggested I left it in Alimnia, but I am not keen on camping! How was the season? I had a late start due to Fanes harbour being silted up, but this was not a problem, as the fish did not turn up until the first week in September. This year there was a dearth of Garfish (Zarganna) which seem to be the main prey of my favourite, the Dorado. This meant that the Dorado also did not show up; we got just one, and it was small! If anything, this was Jack’s year. I guess if I can’t get Dorado, Amberjack will do. You have seen the picture of Chalkibert’s Lizardfish. You have seen Carol’s Frigate Mackerel; no rubber ring required! You have not seen the stray Garfish that got terminally foul-hooked and I had to bring in, and be photographed holding as revenge for the Lizardfish. Incidentally, these fish are delicious, but are better when larger! It is said that the fish buying public reject them because the bones are green; I would say turquoise. I don’t know about you, but I think fish bones are best if not ingested so being a contrasting colour could be considered an advantage! Having said that, in the UK “the fish buying public” restrict themselves to what Keith Floyd used to call “Unidentified Frying Objects”! These are the fish sth and I caught. You may wonder why there is no picture of sth. Have you ever tried taking a photograph of an entity that has no reflection in a mirror? Yet another Jack brought in by my chum Clive. On my last trip I spotted a “Dolphin” near Makri that turned out to be a tuna. I estimated it to be about as big as the Yelowfin shown elsewhere, but I suspect it was a protected Bluefin. Most frustrating under the circumstances, but on 20lb tackle a fish of that size could take a very long time to land. The Yellowfin in Vanuatu took ¾ hour on 80lb tackle in a chair!

Timmy put in an appearance too, for just one trip, between a southerly blow and his departure. Nice display of the hat Tim! Stop gloating and look at the camera! That's Better! Now two together!

We caught a few of these and I had trouble identifying them. At first I thought they were Bigeye, but now I am sure they are Bluefins. They were better for eating fresh than the Little Tunny (Spotties) which are delicious smoked! We had few Dorado/Kinygos and Amberjack this year, but together with the Blues they made for some good fish feasts.
