Can anyone advise?...
We are thinking of booking Stelios this year. We stayed there about five years ago and liked it, but I vaguely remember someone saying that the view from it might be spoiled by a rebuilding job in front of it.
Anyone shed any light on this please?

Hi Andrew, Daisy stayed there last september, I will text her and hopefully she will reply to this soon. I would think it would only restrict the view slightly towards the harbour and of course it may not be completed yet !!! ;D

I never stayed there but I think the new sea front building would shut down only a very narrow and low view of the harbour. Stelios is quite high I think.

The terrace is quite high and you can easily see out over the property in front. Part of the view would be obscured though as you wouldn't be able to see through the ruin any more. I will try and get DH to post some pics of the view from the terrace later - we certainly have enough of them! LOL!
Mind you ... having staying in Villa Perla last year I don't think I would be tempted back to Stelios. Perla was much more comfortable and the view was fantastic plus you have swimming straight from your terrace! The only slight drawback is the fact that the terrace is shared but we didn't find that a problem.

Hi Jennifer - is Perla a Direct Greece property, and has it 2 or more bedrooms?
Thanks for all your replies. We are having a family discussion tomorrow to decide between a Moroccan beach holiday or our 11th successive year in Halki!

From experience - stuck in a rut! Go to Morocco. Halki will be there next year.

Perla is a Nissia property and there is a link to them on this site.

Andrew -I've never stayed at Stelios or Perla but have a 'snoop' around both ...I'd go for the Perla..just for its location and the swimming That side of the harbour is so much quieter and its easier to get in and out of the water www.nissiaholidays.com/accommodation/perlakorali2.htmI think Fatcat stayed at the one next door last year

Hi Andrew If you like Benidorm you will like Morocco because that is what it has turned into in the summer months Morocco is a world apart from Halki. We have stayed in Villa Korali which is next door to Villa Perla great family accommodation 2 bedrooms two Shower rooms ,lovely for the Children, we booked with Nissia Holidays before we left last year ,again for August this year

To clarify my posting #8 above - "Stuck in a Rut. Go to Morocco (or anywhere else!). Halki will be there next year" It makes no difference how hopelessly in love you may be with any one resort, it is a sad mistake to ignore the rest of the world.
