I've tried to email Zifos Travel on zifos-travel@rho.forthnet.gr to find out if they are still the agent for any villas we have used in the past (though one of them, the Margarita, was a long time ago); but that address does not seem to work, ie email is undelivered. I think Zifos Travel may have ceased to operate? Unless anyone knows of a change of email address?

All I can tell you is that their office is ( I believe) a kitchen for Maria's taverna. Don't even know if forthnet still exists.

For sth - I've replied to your PM, many thanks (at least, I hope I've replied if I've got the technology right!) Many thanks also to you, Liz. Possible arrangements are in a bit of a mess because of the virus, I hope to sort something out!

Hi Muriman,
The info provided by Liz and Sth is 'top dollar' as always! Marias Taverna is just waiting for permission to open up and use the Zifos office. Mary Zifos is still renting out her properties and is on Facebook as Liz indicated. Which is why the email probably doesn't work!!
Over many years I have exchanged my reading books, changed money and bought my 'Big Ferry' tickets from Zifos. ??!!!!
A little extra for those hungry for Halki news. I have it on good authority that the whole island has had a first jab ( through the good auspices of the Army) and the 2nd jab is due very soon.
Petros has vacated his shop and it is now available. He is ok and he and Rea are in Rhodes.
Finally, Tomatsi and Hartuna at Black Sea are doing take away food for now.
We have only missed going to Halki twice in 26 years. Last year was the 2nd for obvious reasons. We are OAP's and thought it prudent to leave it to the younger ones.
We would love to think that we will get there this year but there are a few hurdles yet. However, they need tourists and we must be positive.

Thanks j90
We were lucky enough to get to Halki last October and we felt obviously blessed to get there but extremley safe as well . Most people observed the social distancing and hand gels were readily available but it had a lovely 'normal' feel to it .. we have two trips to Halki booked this year and we're hopeful that both will go ahead safely for us and the people of Halki . I think the vaccination programme will give alot of people more confidence as Greece are sticking with the three week interval....... here's hoping !!

Further to my earlier posts, we've been told today that EZYJ are cancelling our May outbound flight from Bristol (re-booked from original booking last year), and this cross-checks with their currently updated schedule. The return flight on 30 May is still showing as scheduled, and EZYJ have not yet confirmed that a refund will be obtainable, but surely a refund must be payable when outbound from selected airport is not operated? I guess voucher may be offered but a refund is likely to be preferable. If anyone else had planned a May departure this year, beware of possible change! So, possible timing of next visit to Halki is now unknown again!

We had the same thing happen a couple of years ago. Our outbound was cancelled but not the inbound. After some enquiries it transpires that as long as both flights are on the same booking you're entitled to refund/voucher for both even if only one flight is cancelled
Cheers. Tom and Rose

Thanks all for the information. I'm a bit surprised that EZYJ have decided at this stage (well before the UK govt's review of travel lockdown, due in April) to cancel all the Rhodes flights before 30 May, including Gatwick as well as Bristol, but I guess they had to make a difficult commercial decision in the face of uncertainty.
sth - Thanks again - pm reply also sent.

Possibly the reason EasyJet are cancelling some of those early May flights could be to do with the fact that Rhodes has had an increase in Covid cases and it is now on red alert, hopefully they will get it all under control soon and it is just due to people ignoring the rules, fingers crossed 🤞-
