and it is wonderful ! Its so peaceful and quiet and the weather is glorious .. touching 30* some days although its set to cool a little later in the week . We feel totally blessed and so lucky to be here and we feel so safe and away from the madness that is going on at the minute. Social distancing is observed and masks are worn in shops, the fist bump has taken over from hugs but it is still the warm and magical place it always was. News of the harbour front .. Christos is now settled in Rhodes and Dariel is opening another shop on that site , Blue Marine will be closing soon and I believe Apostolis & Pelogia will be moving there . Skippers is closed as is Valentis and Petros shop is closed too, other than that pretty much the same. There is a new boat service to take you to the beaches which seems to be doing well We are staying in a lovely house just behind Black Sea which has fabulous views of the harbour and the comings and goings Oh and Tom & Rose you'll be pleased to know I remembered my teabags

Hi Liz We were supposed to be flying out to our quiet little place on Zakynthos in the morning but with flights cancelled and other issues at home we won't manage to get away this year. That's our 2nd holiday missed this year, first one in May due to heart surgery (fighting fit again thanks to the NHS) so 2nd of June next year cant come soon enough. Looking forward to the new ferry transfer too. So, Liz, you do realise that you now need to temporarily take the responsibility of updates while you're there? I'm sure if you are able to us mere mortals spirits up with your tales of adventure while you're there. Really, really, REALLY wish we were there. After the year everyone has endured, Brits and Greeks, a little Greek sunshine goes a very long way Enjoy Tom and Rose P.S. If you run out of tea bags, give me a shout and I'll bring some out for you

Hi Tom .. we've been the same with trips cancelled for one reason or another we were very unsure about whether this would be a goer or not we almost. changed to Turkey ! . Theres nothing much else to report really its rather odd seeing the other three ferries tied up and only the Alko running .. I suppose time will tell .. there was no crossing when we arrived so we had to get the Superferry from Rhodes at 5.30am .. which was a shock to the system ! The reports we've been hearing are that although theres obviously been less international travellers there has been more Greek travellers visiting throughout the summer. Its a lovely time of year to come, we've never been this late before but we're really liking it . I think Rose is a member of the FB page there are plenty of photos on there .. a little cooler today which is nice, yesterday was very hot and humid .... I'll let you know about the teabags

Hi Liz
Rose said she'll have a rummage around the Facebook page to see what has been posted recently. She goes on it quite often, recent ordered the calendar (I wonder if Graeme and Carol are doing one this year too? Hope so) but there's no substitute for the pictures and memories that get indelibly printed in your thoughts by this lovely place.
Enjoy your stay, stupid thing to say really isn't it? As if you wouldn't enjoy your stay 😎
Cheers. Tom and Rose

Hi Tom and Rose, we haven’t been to Halki this year so there won’t be any new photos if we do produce a calendar but if you are happy with that we will look into it and maybe do a few for our regulars like yourselves, I will get back to you soon. What strange times these are, who would have thought when we all left Halki last year that most of us weren’t going to be there in 2020, we have got two trips booked for next year and have decided that unless we are in total lockdown we are going, I have missed it so much and also missed seeing our friends both Greek and from here and Europe that we see every year in September. Hope you have both been keeping well Xx

Great to hear your news Liz, sounds like there will be a few changes again next year, personally we are very sorry to hear about Blue Marine closing, it is somewhere that we have enjoyed from the start, however if Pelagia and Apostolis take that space it will be great as they will have more room to make it their own. I hope the ferry situation changes in 2021 and they resume the afternoon crossing from KS, it seems crazy with all those ferries tied up that nothing is running, hopefully with these uncertain times that is the reason. Enjoy the rest of your holiday and tell Nic we Will see him next year Xx

Even if we've seen the pictures before they will still evoke memories that tell their own story. So yes, put us down for one please and thank you for the effort you put into them 💕🇬🇷 Cheers.
