EasyJet have announced that they are flying from Bristol to Rhodes from June 2nd on Wednesday and Sunday, good flight times and at the moment good prices. Too late for us as we have already booked our usual Jet2 flights from Birmingham but hopefully some of you may benefit, this is great news for our forgotten corner of Britain 😎

Can't quite match your timing sth but 45 mins door to car park via the North Somerset's country lanes certainly beats flogging up the M4/M25/M23 in the dead of night! Just hope come next year they are still running the flight at competitive prices compared to the Gatwick option.

Just hope come next year they are still running the flight at competitive prices compared to the Gatwick option. The prices have tripled in the first 36 hours for both legs. Need to get "in" on the day of release.

Indeed - but even on day of release timing can be crucial - have made our booking early in the morning only to find fellow travelers who were a bit slower than me got a better deal an hour or so later. Hopefully this service will be running next year but that will depend on take up over the coming months. Wanted to use their service to Iceland in Sept but it's been shelved - no more flights after next month, leaving us with BA (avoid if you can) and T5 as the next best.

Ah! Yes, thanks, JtB, I've just seen this. We didn't visit last year. Will have to give Bristol flights some thought, they would certainly make travel for us easier than LGW or (as in 2017) Birmingham with Jet2, (which we found preferable for us on balance than Gatwick though timings meant a night in Rhodes). There's also a bus service to Bristol airport from Bath via Keynsham and outer east Bristol, which can be a good option depending on number of people travelling together.

That Bath to Bristol Airport is a very good service but, it is currently underused so --- one never knows!!!

Reason why seeming not well used may be partly down to price and how to get to a stop along the route with all one's baggage. Service is hourly from 03.00 until 08.00 and costs £14ea single(not free with a Bus pass) So to get to the bus requires a least one taxi ride, may be two, depending on flight times, for those not within a few steps of the route/stop or with a infrequent/non existent local service. So cost benefit is minimal for a fortnight versus the airport cp and travel time will be worse for all but a luck few.
If the EasyJet flight is still running next year, I'll drive and risk close encounters with the odd badger or fox in the Chew valley.

The inaugural Easyjet Bristol to Rhodes started this morning. Between 0630 and 0900 there were 16 scheduled Easyjet departures. All but one left more or less on time. The one that did not was to Rhodes - 1 hour late. Great start! That equates to a missed lunch at KS.

Let’s hope it doesn’t happen to you in September I so wish we were going from Bristol this year, so much less hassle than Birmingham, I am keeping everything crossed that that route continues next year.
