Very sad news has reached us this morning that David Hiett has passed away, many of you will know David from his many years visiting Halki with Sheila who sadly passed away just over a year ago, they were both great Halki stalwarts and friends to many of us, he will be sadly missed by a lot of people. R.I.P David you are now reunited with your beloved Sheila.

We must have been on Halki at the same time as them for at least the last ten years or longer, certainly from the days of Direct Greece as we used to get the 6am flight from Cardiff and sit at Kamiros Scala with them having a very long boozy lunch, happy days and great memories 🇬🇷

For those that know him well, Petros Antonoglou (Shopkeeper) lost his daughter Eleni last week following illness.

Once again it is sad to use this forum to report the passing of two elderly Halki mothers. Theodosia's (of cake shop) and Steki's (of Nikolas Bar). RIP.

Both very strong independent women - Kalliope (Theodosia) & Stamatouli (Nikola). Three strong old stalwarts in the last three weeks, all very old.

Saddened today to learn of the passing of two more Halki stalwarts. Yiannis Efstathiou (sometimes referred to as "Georgie Best" & "Adzamis") - also owner of the Red speed boat which caused him so very much trouble and heartache over 30+ years. And Filaritou. Condolences to their families. RIP.
