Has anyone stayed here? It looks a bit old fashioned in the photos and wondered what it's really like! Thanks

Hi New to these boards and they are a wealth of info! I'm just looking at booking this one next year and wondered if you received any further info on this property? Im.more interested in knowing what the terrace is like and if it has steps to the sea. Thanks Suzi

It has a terrace to the front and you can get into the sea via steps. I didn't book because it is quite 'public' in that it is the first villa as you walk from the harbour. It just looked a bit old fashioned inside to me. I don't go inside much in Hall I hasten to add, but this looked a bit basic from the photos.

Thanks for your reply Helen. I'm in 2 minds but we wanted a nice terrace and steps to the sea and I'm struggling to find anywhere else. I don't mind the inside too much. We will be outside most of the time but the public thing worries me a bit. But i guess no one is walking on your terrace are They? I will have a think. We have defo decided on Halki anyways. It looks amazing and exactly what we like!

Suzi, appreciate the issue of being near the waterfront, the terrace as such is the pavement and you will have people walking by. At night, we had to take the chairs and longers inside to stop people, mainly youngsters sitting there at night. It is well suited for anyone with mobility issues, being on the flat, as it were to get to the tavernas and shops.Since then, we are very settled and happy elsewhere and only went there as a short notice accommodation availability holiday.

Hi James Thanks for your reply. I've only just seen it! We have actually booked this now and I'm a bit worried! Nissia didn't mention that the terrace was a public path. Were there lots of people walking past? Is there enoigh room to have chairs out if people are walking past? Think I might contact Nissia to seeing they have anything else. Thanks for the info! Suzi

Suzi - the 'traffic' on the path will be your neighbours in 'Christina B', so not exactly like rush hour on the M25! I've shot Halki every year for the last 10 years, so might have something in the published work on Flickr already accessible but it's not a view I've taken often, of that I'm pretty sure. Give me a day to see what I've got (nice here in the West Country, so I'm off out to play shortly with a roll of B&W film and a couple of digi bodies)and I'll post a link or two. Elena gets a lot of repeat bookings.

Done a very quick search and found 2, both long shots from '09 but hopefully will give you a feel for the position. Night ViewExtreme right is Christina B, then it's Elena. The yellowy painted single storey end of the left hand building is now a small supermarket. Long shotElena is the 3rd in from the left, followed by Christina B & A HTH Steve ps not much changed since they were taken

Enjoy the cold but beautiful wearher. I'm looking at it out of the office window... not quite the same!! Thanks again. Really appreciate you responding Suzi

Just back in. Cool start but a pleasant 10 for most of my time in the field. Sun even went behind a cloud for me when I wanted to get the north side of the church so I was shooting tooo much against the light!
Happy that the quick trawl of my library helped. I have shot from the path by Elena or off Christina's patio, but as most of what I shoot is taken in the first hour or so after sunrise, shooting back towards Elena/Christina is not something I do much of. I'll see if I've got anything better later and post a link to them.

Haven't found anything significantly more useful Suzi - there's a view in the Halki 2011 album (K7-060711-06) which was intended to record the reshaping of the main quay over the winter of 2010/11 which has Elena & Christina in the background.

Hi Suzi I don't think there is major traffic past you .. most people walk up the path after the supermarket which goes up the side of the church ... People are generally respectful of privacy and if the path just leads up to your door/gate then I doubt anyone would use it .. its a lovely position .. We've stayed over that side a few times and never walked in front of that property .. I didn't know you could to be honest .. if you contact Meni or Daffy at Nissia I'm sure they would set your mind at rest
