After what might be best described as a day that had a strong 'people focus' I sat down with a VERY small glass of Metaxa to relax ;D. Logged on to 'Halki' as therapy and saw your photos, classic shots of which I've got quite a few of the same on various digital camera cards. However, they were just the ticket to reality . We are going for a week in June (13th) prior to main event of 2 weeks in Sept. If you are there at the same time in June, pse do feel free to PM.

Thanks for the kind comments! We are arriving as you leave, perhaps we will pass in the airport. Hope you have a wonderful week. A main event later in the year sounds like a good idea. We wondered what Halki is like in Late Sept, perhaps I will post and ask. For us, a September week in The Scottish Highlands is planned, but a scary weather forecast could see a change Dave

Love these pictures! Amazing panoramic photo the first one... May I ask which lens was used here? Or is it a digital camera with fixed lens?

Hi, thanks for your comment on the pictures.
The thing that makes these pictures a little different is that they were taken using a polarising filter. This has intensified the colours and darkened the sky. You might notice that they are both very wide shots. Each one is made from 3 or 4 images "stitched" together on some free software. It was an experiment that worked well. Oh, taken on my Olympus E420 with standard zoom lens at 28mm (widest).

We went the first year and Mr Daisy did get to the top I just froze about 10 mins from the top and had to slowly make my way down aided by Mr Daisy to a lower level where I sat shaking on a large rock :'(while people scampered past even children Mr Daisy went back up and took pics I had to go to the bar at Pondamos and settle my shattered nerves with a large drink ;D so no have never made it to the summit

I never knew that x I went with the boys whilst him in doors snoozed ! Must admit I stayed in the middle and I do think they've missed a trick by not having an iron lung at the top ! .. The bar at Pondamos was a very welcome interlude to the descent ;-)

I hope this doesn't cause too much side scrolling Nowhere near as good as anything on here of dave's, but a different perspective. Double click to enlarge. I may take some time at a later date to clean it up a bit!
