:-[Thanks Amanda. I have been looking for the website for Hiona Art Hotel, not Art Hotel. No idea it had all changed! I hated to think of the place closing and it did enter my mind that it had.

Ronseal is not a Greek maufacturer, and their slogan is not in the lexicon of Greek business!
That said, your first problem, finding the site, was not a true problem as, by experimentation, I found that our old friend "Google" took me straight there even if I tried to go to the old site.
At the risk of stating the obvious, I take it that you have tried both using the embedded form in <Contact us> and using the email address printed on the site?
As I understand it the hotel was leased by the Dimos to an independant contractor. I seem to recall that there was a site created by the Dimos, but finding the reference for that on this PB is, well, impossible. Even if I could find it I doubt that it would provide an answer. I received information (unverifiable) that the contractor was not an experienced hotelier. It may be that they are now working through Zifos Travel, although they have not done so in the past.
It is strange that an island that lives by tourism makes life so difficult for visitors to book into its one hotel.

:-/Thanks Kinygos. Since posting I have used the email address shown as from my own email, as opposed to the "set-up" one on the website, that too was returned. Odder and odder. Please keep me (and no doubt other people) informed. Any information at any time from anyone much appreciated.

Hey Greek Girl, lookey what I found! www.dimoschalkis.gr/portal/They have a contact tab and the site seems to be being kept up-to-date. Might be worth a try?

In the folder of odds and ends in my desk drawer I have a business card collected from the then Hiona Art Hotel, labelled "Takis Chrisovergis, General Manager". The email address on this card ("hionaart@otenet.gr" must now be out of date. As a guess, you could try "art@otenet.gr" (or is this the email address you have already tried?). The hotel phone number seems to be (0030)22460 or possibly 45244, fax may be 45025, although some of these numbers may also be out of date.

Muriman, Takis is long gone! he is now involved in an organic cosmetics business in my home village of Pastida. I see him occasionally. Took me by surprise the first time!
As I said above the Dimos leased it to a private contractor. Much has changed since the election.

Many thanks for the information and advice. I shall keep trying the website for another week or two, then contact Halki Dimos and try the phone numbers given too. It would happen this year - I have talked my friend into visiting the Hotel as it is such a lovely place to stay and, of course, she has been unable to contact them. So I am keeping my fingers crossed that eventually one of us will be successful!!! Will post any news.

It might be useful for others if you could reveal what the problem really was, and how you overcame it.
Then anyone else having difficulties could refer to the solution.
In any case, well done!

All down to an earlier posting!! Its no longer the Hiona Art Hotel, just The Art Hotel, new web-site and new email address. Not sure about telephone numbers, I presume they are the same: I always try to email then you can print and keep for future reference!! Same people running it as last year as far as I can see. Its a lovely hotel, so clean and quiet. And a great position.
