We are off on our Greek Island hopping adventure on Wed 14th Sept for 4 weeks. Flying to Athens then ferry to Naxos and hopefully Syros - Kea - Kythnos - Hydra - Poros - Aegina for 4 nights each. Any comments on these Islands most welcome. Will not be as good as Halki We don't think but will update when we return.

I think it was Poros where we had a wash and brush up in a fountain in a square close to the harbour/quayside !
Hydra - we walked what seemed for hours around a footpath that followed the waters edge, we camped up on top on an old structure at the waterside, our source of drinking water was an old iron irrigation pipe that was not earthed, so when we drank from it we got a short but very sharp zap from Greece's finest electrical supply.
Circa 1979-80.
I was only on $1 a day so everything we did was on less than a shoestring.
No idea what it's like now though, being close to Athens I would imagine it getting quite chocka at weekends.
